Meet AnXin

Designed to keep postoperative drainage flowing.

AnXin is an in-line chest-tube clearance system designed to remove blood clots while keeping the drainage circuit closed. It connects to existing drainage bottles and is being developed for use after cardiac surgery.

Generation 5 AnXin prototype

  • Automated clot clearance — Designed to clear blood clots that can obstruct chest-tube drainage.

  • Closed drainage circuit — Designed to support clot clearance without opening the drainage circuit.

  • Compatibility with existing drainage bottles — Designed to integrate with equipment already used in postoperative care.

Prototype development

Five generations of AnXin prototypes, developed through ongoing testing and feedback from healthcare professionals.

    Tested an Archimedes-impeller approach; it could not handle higher combined liquid and gas loads.

  3. Generation 3

    Moved to a positive-displacement pump architecture.

  4. Generation 4

    Simplified the main-unit structure and integrated a motor for simulated-blood testing.

  5. Generation 5

    Current prototype

    Integrated motor-current recording for ongoing bench validation.
